EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: CLAUDIU ZALINCA

Claudiu joined our team 2 years ago, working remotely from his hometown, Iași.
Ever since he has been an awesome team player, the person we all could count on whether he had job-related matters or leisure ones - talking about teambuilding, anniversaries or trips to Cluj.
To mark his second anniversary with us, we asked Claudiu 5 questions about his life at InsiniSwiss. Here are his answers:
1. What was the biggest obstacle you've overcome in these two years and how did you manage to confront it?
I can't give a precise example, but usually when it comes to an obstacle or a more difficult task, I consider that the most important thing to do is just start the task and after putting some time and effort into it, things become clearer and easier to exceed.
2. What is the most memorable moment since you started at InfiniSwiss?
A moment that I remember fondly is when I went for the first time on a business trip in Switzerland, around Christmas, to the headquarters of the project I was working for. It was a very nice opportunity to interact with those colleagues, to see the working environment of a Startup and to visit Zurich during the holidays.
3. How have you developed professionally and personally during this period?
During this period I had the chance to work on several projects, from internal ones to Startups or applications of very large corporations. This helped me develop by coming across different ways of building software and also using different tools or technologies. In this way, I’ve added a lot to my skills and become much more versatile, being able to overcome any obstacle I may have.
4. Is there any professional achievement from these two years that you are most proud to share?
Although during this period I have completed many tasks, the coolest one in my opinion would be the fact that I managed to create a custom system of Preview Environments for a distributed application using only services from AWS. The subject was very interesting and challenging, and the fact that I developed it from scratch without being an AWS specialist gave me the satisfaction of learning while I was building. Also, I had to solve several optimization problems to increase the speed of the system and reduce its memory and thus I was able to address many advanced aspects of the software.
5. What advice would you have for those who want to become our colleagues?
My advice for those who want to be part of the InfiniSwiss team would be to take the interview very seriously and make efforts to master very well the topics mentioned in the blogs about the technical part of the recruitment process. This would significantly increase the chances of that person being accepted.
